Yadid Rubin, an Israeli artist used to paint the view of his hometown, the kibbutz. He used to describe the wild and colourfull nature he remembers in his mind. Half a year he worked in the cotton field absorbing the color and shape of the plants, the grown the field. The other year he put his feelings and memories of it on the canvas using the amount of color and bold brush lines. Rubin reminds me of my Grandmas's home, my childhood memories, of dreams and history that stay in my mind and they have the colors and shapes that only I can feel and describe. My dresses are my own canvas, following his idea only with my own garments, with fashion, by knitting my own story memories and my own Kibbutz.
